28th Annual Bakersfield Police Department
Memorial Run

The 28th Annual Bakersfield Police Memorial Run was held on Saturday, Nov. 6th at the Park at River Walk.  Over 400 runners participated in the annual event.  Runners and volunteers are to be commended for braving the weather conditions that came upon us during the event.  Conditions on the 10k course were described as a "brown out" due to the dust blowing. 

Several of BPD's own took home medals:  Glen Grundeis, Wally Whitaker, Nichole Shihrer, and Tony Mosley all medaled in the Law Enforcement categories. 

Thanks to all that participated and volunteered, we look forward to seeing you again next year on November 5, 2011. 

All proceeds pay for the education of children who are survivors of BPD officers killed in the line of duty.
