Sphere Of Influence Data

Abstract:

This data set is known as Boundary Jurisdiction Sphere of

Influence abbreviated (BDJURSOI) and contains the

Sphere of Influence Boundaries since 1989 for the City of

Bakersfield, CA.

Purpose:

This data set was created to aid in local GIS and mapping

applications.

Attribute accuracy report:

This data set consists of two polygons which where

verified to be correct by visual examination.

Logical consistency report:

Topologically cleaned by ARC/INFO.

Completeness report:

This data set at present only contains the last two Amendments to the

Sphere of Influence Boundary. Amendements not included: 1970324, 19770426,

19860311, 19871013, 19881025.

Horizontal positional accuracy report:

The best expected accuracy of this data set is +/- 66 feet.

Line work which does not border the Kern River where

extracted from COGOed parcels, street centerlines and

section lines.

Line work which borders the Kern River was extracted from

digitized coverages of the Kern River centerline and Kern

River shoreline and flood areas. These coverages where

created using multiple sources including 1995 USGS

DOQQs, USGS 7.5 minute series quadrangles, and a 1997

SPOT panchromatic image. The SPOT panchromatic

image has a resolution of 10 meters or approximately +/- 33

feet.
