2009 Park(ing) Day
September 18, 2009 @ City Hall North

Originally created by Rebar, San Francisco art and design collective, PARK(ing) Day is an annual, one-day, global event where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks.

Last year was the first year that the City of Bakersfield participated in the event and the response from the public was incredible!

This year's park will be in front of City Hall North (1600 Truxtun Avenue) and will be occupying several parking spaces on Truxtun Avenue from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The Department of Recreation & Parks would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy the park for the day.

All materials used for Park(ing) day will be recycled and used in City Parks or greenscapes after the park is dismantled.
